Loving the new holiday cards and ornaments from my pal Anna over at Sub-Studio! Anna and her husband Sean screenprint all of their designs onto recycled papers. Umm...by the way can you tell these two have a background in architecture?

These are two of the new drawer paper styles coming soon to the shop. The scents now include rose tea, french lavender, mandarin jasmine, and coriander. Love them all! I've had these flat printed onto the rice paper instead of silk screen, an effort to expand my options and offer stocked items as for the holidays. By the way I am in Decembers Lucky so got your copy of you want a 25% discount off the entire site...I'll post as soon as I have a copy!
Love these napkins and photographs from Plait Textiles. So warm and inviting...I have no idea how to make a cobbler or even apple pie but these napkins make me want to learn. They are hand woven in limited numbers in a small Wisconsin studio, check out the etsy shop here.
I've kept my political beliefs away from this blog but today it's time to celebrate and say a few words. Like most Americans and foreign observers, the last year in politics has had me enraptured. Never have I felt so connected and such a desire to be a part of something. But this year I had to stop and listen; with family on my mind and a dream in my pocket I had so much more at stake this time. I am one for listening to the person who makes the most sense and who can foster the most change, and this year that was Barack Obama. It looks like America agreed. I'm so excited to see what this will bring for us all, but especially those of us with our dollar and a dream. And on the other note...the more obvious note...the one everyone keeps harping on. All year I've been hearing "is race a factor?" "is race important?". I am not African American culturally but Africa is in my veins, America is in my roots and humanity is in my heart. Who knows if race was a factor numerically but let's celebrate this milestone for humanity shall we??
